The book charts the top games of the Home International and Irish sides, through each of the World Cup Tournaments since 1958, including of course, England's 1966 Victory. Each tournament features the top stories reported as they happened, plus a header page summarising the group fixtures and results. A wonderful insight into half a century of the world cup: the history, the high and lows, the inside stories, the gossip. They are not written text book fashion by an author looking back into history, but by reporters who witnessed the games and events as they unfolded, and written in a language of the time, in an entertaining and informative newspaper style. For an additional £5 you can have the recipient's name gold embossed on the book cover.
