It's not that much more expensive to cook on the barbeque than it would be indoors and the smell of char-grilled food is delicious.
In the autumn and winter it's hard to beat a good pub dinner and I've yet to meet a sixty year old who didn't love an indulgent pub lunch! You can present 60th birthday gifts at the table and even have the birthday boy or girl blow out the candles on a cake.
For really inexpensive sixtieth birthday parties all year round you could consider a house party. By asking friends and family to bring food and drink you can cut down costs and it's easy to find someone willing to change CDs and play the birthday person's favourite music.
