                We've all got a lot of important dates to remember. There's Mother's Day, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Easter, Bonfire Night, the list is almost endless and then add to that all of the birthdays and other special occasions. 

If you're of a specific religion you can probably add on a few more festivals or special days and so it's easy to forget a couple of them. Father's Day is one day that lots of people do forget but it's essential that you don't because your father has probably done a lot for you over the years and Father's Day offers you the chance to show him plenty of appreciation.

Top of the list of your priorities when Father's Day approaches will probably be Father's Day gifts, you might also want to take your dad out for a meal or have a special dinner at home to say thanks. It's a great time for him, because as we grow up our parents often feel less connected to us and Father's Day gives your dad the opportunity to reconnect with his children. Some people really have trouble buying birthday and Father's Day gifts because they're scared the recipient won't like them or won't 'get' a joke they're making. In fact, for some people going shopping for presents is a bit of a nightmare. In fact, money is another factor which can sometimes cause stress. If you can't afford a big present for a loved one you shouldn't ever feel inadequate or sad. The biggest present which you'll ever give your dad is your love, respect and company anything else on top is a bonus!

You see, your dad can use it at work or keep it in the house for when he wants a really satisfying cuppa'. Almost everyone has a favourite mug and it's usually because it was a gift and carries some special sentimental value.

Dads love useful presents and mugs are definitely likely to get plenty of use. So are printed, full-colour calendars. Calendars make good Father's Day presents for many reasons. The most obvious reason is that a calendar would help him to remember special dates (like his anniversary or your birthday!) and another reason is because like mugs they're affordable, can be personalised and come in lots of different themes.
 
Finding a theme that your dad would love shouldn't be too hard. Lots of fathers love sports and there are plenty of personalised sporting calendars out there. If your dad is more into camping adventures or sunny holidays there are even calendars with cool beach and landscape shots on them. There are calendars aimed at Sci-Fi fans such as alien themed calendars with the name you choose written in the stars or on the sign for a UFO crash site for different months.

If You Forget

If you forget to get your dad any Father's Day gifts don't worry too much. Just get him one as soon as you can when you remember and apologise. Sometimes, it's better to get presents and hugs late rather than never and he'll forgive you very promptly. It's never too late to get a card or take him down to the pub, remember that if you ever do forget it's Father's Day. The worst thing you can do is forget and neglect the celebration all together because he could think you don't care about him as much as he'd like you to!
