A Short Cut To Your Xmas Shopping | Xmas Presents from GettingPersonal.co.uk

When it comes to making decisions I am hopeless. Given a menu in a restaurant, I am unable to select a starter, main course and dessert and as for the wine list, I am utterly stumped. The choice is overwhelming, but if I was limited to a choice of 2 or 3 wines, then I could probably choose one without any problem. I usually have to ask the waiter to recommend a dish, while the friends with whom I am dining drum their fingers impatiently on the table, willing me to just get a move on and choose. It is a wonder that I am ever invited out for a meal, as I am renowned for this behaviour. So when I am faced with the dilemma of shopping for Xmas presents, I usually have to take a reliable friend with good taste along with me to the shops, to point me in the right direction and ultimately march me to the cash desk with an Xmas present that has not been chosen by me at all. This same friend has recently given me some great advice which has helped me no end when it comes to the point where I have to decide between several items, on what to buy. She has suggested I categorise the type of Xmas presents that I intend to buy into a few simple groups, so that I can choose from each group rather than become overwhelmed by having to look at everything on offer.

So this Xmas I will be focusing on engraved gifts, experience day gifts and personalised gifts that are functional and can be used by the recipient and this way I can rest assured that the Xmas presents that I select will be appreciated and enjoyed by those on the receiving end. Instead of putting off the major task of dealing with my indecisive nature, I am now looking forward to starting to make my purchases of Xmas presents, without being distracted by all the different types of gifts on offer and so I have already removed many items from my options because of having to restrict myself to those 3 selected categories. Next Xmas I can use my infallible system and by changing the categories, to which I restrict myself, will allow myself a different choice of Xmas presents to choose from. It really is as easy as that, but I will still have the difficult task of having to choose wrapping paper. But that's what my friend is for.

I have chosen engraved glasses accompanied by a bottle of something extremely drinkable for all the men on my list. That way, I can keep everyone happy, especially as I know what their favourite drop of alcohol is and they will remember me with every sip, because of the inscription on the glass that personalises the Xmas present. I do still have the problem of deciding what message to have inscribed though. There is a great choice, with crystal tumblers, crystal glasses and even flutes to drink from and all sorts of different makes of spirit or champagne.

My boyfriend is quite hard to buy Xmas presents for, but an experience day that I have in mind will keep him happy. He is just a big kid at heart and so a Paintball for Two Experience Day will be right up his street. He can toddle off with one of his daft mates to have great fun splatting paintballs at each other. If you give your fella one of these fun and original Xmas presents and fancy a bit of harmless fun with your bloke, you could invite yourself along and reap the benefits of this imaginative Xmas present. For all your friends who are constantly flitting off abroad for weekends, or even for those who just have a week in the sun once a year, a great and useful idea that is at the top of my list of Xmas presents is a First Class Passport Cover, which will jazz up that dull looking passport. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, a way of dealing with a couple and what gift to choose is to give them joint Xmas presents. I have friends who love to go dancing together and I feel sure that a Let's Dance Session for Two will have them dancing in the aisles. This is one of those Xmas presents that is bound to be enjoyed by the recipients and they get to choose between hot and steamy tango, sexy salsa and stylish and glamorous ballroom. They will soon be leaving the disco floor and opting for the more sophisticated surroundings of a whole new dance world.
