Avoid Overspending On Presents | Presenst from GettingPersonal.co.uk
When it comes to buying gifts for people it is easy to lose yourself in the expense of it all so much so that you forget to just enjoy having fun choosing the perfect gift for your friend, family member or partner. It's important to remember that buying a gift for someone should be just as much fun as receiving a gift from someone. I for one can have no end of fun trying to think of something original, unique and special to get for my friends and family (and the look on their faces when they open it is worth all the extra effort!) The brilliant thing is an original, unique, special present doesn't even require you to re-mortgage your house! In fact it is surprisingly easy!
Obviously if you are buying a
presents
for your friend, family member or partner you will already have a fair idea of what sort of thing they like and what their hobbies are. Your gift should reflect this whilst at the same time being original. This is why it is always a great idea to have your items personalised so that they are special and individual. Here are just a few things that you can have personalised and it's completely affordable too! (For more information on personalised gifts take a look at gettingpersonal.co.uk)
You can never go wrong with a nice bottle of champagne! It suits every occasion and you can almost certainly guarantee it will be well received! But of course you could also argue that it is a bit boring and impersonal...But fear not! It is now possible to have your very own label attached to the bottle! You can choose from many different backgrounds and colours including love hearts, starfish, birthday candles, L plates or simply just stylish and sheek. There's plenty of fun to be had when selecting your label!
A mug sounds like an incredibly dull
presents
idea but believe it or not you can take a simple mug and make it into an awesome present! Simply by adding your own style and design you can create a gift that is special, unique and will get a lot of use for years to come! Choose from many different backgrounds including football, fireworks, gardening or whatever their hobby may be! Another good thing to do with a mug is buy them a 'paint your own' style mug. This is simply a blank mug with little paint pots included. You then open it at their party or gathering and let everyone add their own designs and messages all night. By the end of the evening they will have something original, special and unique that they can keep forever. It will hardly cost you a thing!
Photo frames are great because they don't need to be too expensive but can be made into such a special gift. You can either find a nice photo or make a collage of lots of different little photos. Why not have the frame itself engraved with a personal message? A brilliant thing to do with a photo frame at a party is buy a blank one (preferably ceramic) then get a marker pen and pass it round the party getting people to add their own messages (much like the mug idea!)
If you like the idea of a frame but have far too many photos to choose from then why not get a photo album? You can have the album engraved with your own message which will make it all the more special. You could even make your own scrap book (completely cheap and easy to do but very, very effective...guaranteed to be a tear jerker!)
It is always a nice idea to get someone a gift that they can get a lot of use out of. This will also ensure that every time they go to use this gift they will be reminded of you and what a fantastically generous gift giver you are! It is because of this that I recommended personalised diaries and calendars. You can have all sorts of things added to them like names, quotations, pictures and all sorts of different backgrounds and it is a gift that can be used all year round!
Having a star named after someone is a lovely gift and cheaper than it sounds! I would recommend it as the perfect gift for someone who was buying for their partner (very romantic!)
If you fancy getting a
presents
that is more funny or funny there are lots of humorous and 'kooky' things you can get personalised such as door mats, jelly mould's, Andy Warhol-style pop art prints, a mini engraved money box, football books, a cuddly toy (no really!) and you can even give someone your last Rolo...or at least a gold engraved Rolo (with your own personal message...does a present get any better than that?!)
