Let us say, then, that she is utterly pleased that her knight in shining armour, the one for whom she has been applying that extra coat of lip gloss every day before climbing on the bus to work, the one who she smiles sweetly at, who she shyly says hi to each morning, who replies with an equally shy wotcha. After 6 months of this routine and the butterflies and excitement that appear as the bus rounds the corner, or the disappointment that reveals itself as a lead weight in the pit of her stomach when she clambers aboard in search of an empty seat, looks across to where he is usually positioned, with her best smile ready and every hair on her head in the right place, only to find that he is not there, she may at last get the chance to know him better. If one of them does not hurry up and make a move, the agony will continue. Another whole day will drag by slowly until she can set eyes on him once more. So it looks, in this case at least, like a match made in heaven and they will probably both live happily ever after, have perfect and well behaved children and be the type of old people that make you go 'ah!' when you see them walking down the road and still holding hands after all those years.

Those big crushes we have on people and that we dismiss as frivolous fancy, could well turn in to the real thing, if only someone did something about it.
