Some of the best christening gifts are jewellery! If you buy the right piece of jewellery for your friends or their new born baby then they could be treasured and adored for a whole lifetime or even passed down through a family. Charms are a good option for baby boys and girls because they can be switched from a neck chain to a bracelet and worn however the child chooses as they grow up.

Gleaming Jewellery
The trick with jewellery as christening gifts is to make sure that items are sentimental and personal. The easiest way to make an item of jewellery more special is to engrave it with a name or a few heartfelt words.
For under £25 you can buy a shining child's expandable bracelet and included in the price would be any name engraved on to it up to 15 characters long. They're made from 100 sterling silver and that makes them very special. Often people choose to keep their christening bracelets their whole lives as a sentimental reminder of their christening and of who bought it for them.
As well as engraving names in to charms and jewellery there are other ways to personalise items too! One excellent gift for godparents (for example) is a silver fingerprint charm. They start at under £50 and you can have them made with the baby's name and engraved with a real impression of the baby's fingerprint, they can then be added to chains and worn as a necklace or added to bracelets and worn that way.
The way that they're made is, a kit is sent to you to take a finger print impression and you then send that back to the company. The impression is used to make the item of jewellery and then it's sent to the recipient or to you to present to them. This process obviously takes a little longer than a simple engraving but it's so utterly personal and unique that it's worth the wait!
Keepsake Boxes
Keepsake boxes rank high on the list of traditional christening gifts. They offer a place to store those small but well loved possessions and are an attractive object suitable for a bedroom or mantle piece.
Trinket, jewellery and keepsake boxes also make very good christening gifts because they can be engraved with a meaningful message, or even a bible quote. They're attractive to look at but can also be a good place to store a child's other gifts such as jewellery or smaller mementos.
There's a huge range of designs out there too, you'll find circular trinket boxes studded with Swarovski crystals, heart shaped boxes, square ones and antique style ones too. Typically they're bought for female babies more than male ones, but they are suitable for boys too because boys are equally likely to need a place to store small valuable items throughout their lifetime.
Framing History
Looking back over all the fun you've had through the years, or remembering what happened at a wonderful event such as a christening is a joy. One way to help jog your memory is to take plenty of photographs. Photographs capture the moment and look great when they're printed or processed and presented in a gorgeous frame.
So, we think that picture frames can make superb christening gifts! There are even frames which feature the words: "baby's christening" and have an image a Christian cross integrated in to their design, which are ready to have your own photo added to them. Other frames are available too though with themes such as pink or blue teddy bears, hearts or little footprints. All of these make great christening gifts and some can even be engraved or personalised with details such as the baby's name and the date of their christening.
Rainy Day Elegance
We've all heard the saying 'saving up for a rainy day' and one of our favourite sparkling christening gifts has to be the Noah's ark money box which can be personalised with a name and again, the date of the christening along with a small message. It's beautiful but also a useful present that could be used daily by a child who was saving up for a specific toy or just learning how to manage cash.
