For kids on the go - throwing a go Diego go party | Party Supplies from GettingPersonal.co.uk
To anyone not yet acquainted with Diego, this charming character was first introduced as a spinoff of the highly successful 'Dora the Explorer' show for pre-school children on Nickelodeon. The show is Spanish dubbed and features a little boy called Diego who helps animals who are in danger, particularly in the rainforests. Dora the explorer is his cousin, and Diego also has a Jaguar called 'Baby' who is his partner in these adventures! Other friends include Click the camera - who has special powers to locate animals in need of help, and 'rescue pack' which is a special bag that can transform into any helpful object! There are also two naughty spiders called the Bobo Brothers who misbehave and cause trouble for Diego as he goes about his adventures - however they aren't bad on purpose, more boisterous - and they often apologise for their antics afterwards!
Needless to say, Diego has become a hugely popular animated character and is already loved amongst young children who adore the adventures, characters and focus on saving and helping animals in distress. The popularity of the show has also resulted in new spin off products for its little fans, which are great if you are planning to hold a
go diego party
!
A go Diego party would be a fantastic treat for the special small fan in your life, particularly for a birthday. He or she will be the star of the class with a themed go Diego party, and the other kids will definitely get into the swing of things! Why not begin the theme by sending out special invitations from the Go Diego range - explaining that it is a themed party in homage to the animated character!
Young guests could be invited to attend in fancy dress -perhaps dressed as Diego, the Bobo Brothers, Baby Jaguar or one of the animals of the rainforest. They could also come as cousin Dora the Explorer! A bit of fancy dress action will definitely get your Go Diego party going with a swing! You could also decorate the house with themed decorations such as rainforest green streamers or cut out leaves to create a tropical dwelling in your living room! Try putting down a dark green tablecloth to create a jungle canopy (and protect the carpet!) and festoon the 'trees' around with 'Go Diego Go' Happy Birthday balloons in bright orange colours! Part of the official range, all the children will want to take one home with you - so at six to a pack, you'll probably want a few bags! Blow them up with a helium pump so that they float along the ceiling, and tie bright ribbons to them to help add to the rainforest theme.
Your
go diego party
will also need special food and drink - so try brightly coloured party refreshments that echo the bright colours and tasty flavours of the rainforest! A tropical punch made with sweet juices and pineapple pieces would be great served in plastic beakers with coloured straws. Try a tasty pile of crunchy bright peppers and celery sticks with hummus and salsa dips for more adventurous children and brightly coloured cakes and sweets for those who love sweet items! Remember to serve your foods on Diego bright plates for the adventurers!
You could also think of games that will get everyone into the swing of their Go Diego party - adventurous and active games - where a garden is ideal! If you have lots of space for running around, then try tag, musical statues, and team games or simply let them get into their fancy dress characters and wear themselves out by dashing about and making lots of noise! You could also try telling stories or putting on a few episodes of their favourite show for when things need to quieten down a bit and when parents are due to pick up their little characters to take home at the end.
Make up some party bags for your Diego fans with balloons, cake pieces, little toys and treats for them to enjoy once they've left - this will also help parents get over enthusiastic and giddy kids away from the party and on the way back home again!
If these ideas have inspired you to create your own
go diego party
, have fun with planning and making something creative for the young guests to enjoy, get your family involved to help out and have plenty of adults in hand in case the rainforest activities get a little noisy and boisterous! With a little planning everyone should have lots of fun and your Go Diego party will be the talk of the classroom!
