Getting more personal with your gifts :: Engraved Gifts

It's a shame, but a lot of shops are flooded with unoriginal, uncreative gifts that are totally impersonal. They don't really say anything except, perhaps: 'I haven't put much thought in to this.' Bubble bath for example, can be a lovely gift if you know the person you're buying it for really loves that specific scent or style.

Perhaps the scent matches the flowers they grow in their garden, or maybe they've always loved a lavender soak before bed. However, any old packet of pretty bath salts won't impress anyone. The same goes for a box of chocolates. Just because a certain brand is on special offer it doesn't make it a thoughtful gift! We all like chocolates but there's no wow factor and a box of chocolates is easily eaten and forgotten.

Excuses, Excuses

Sometimes we tell ourselves we give rubbish presents because we don't have enough time to buy good ones. If we're honest though we probably had loads of time? We could have browsed online stores during our lunch break for example, or got up half an hour early and had a whizz around the shops before work.

Anyway, there's no need to give people unoriginal, carbon copy presents like boxes of brand name chocolates and bath salts. In fact, there's no excuse as even unique gifts can be inexpensive. We're all unique people and we all deserve relatively unique gifts!

Exciting Presents

There's a whole world of exciting and interesting gifts out there and you can take those gifts and make them even better. A gorgeous man, or a loving father would probably love to receive a chunky tankard for when he has the occasional beer, but it can be made even more special if you take the time to find one which can be engraved.

Make a tankard even more special with a message especially for your father, brother or boyfriend and he'll love your gift even more. Men might act tough but secretly they love engraved gifts with little heartfelt messages. They're secretly sentimental and engraved gifts which tell them how loved, great or funny they are make them just as happy as any lady would be.

Regardless of the message you choose, it's bound to be more sincere and heartfelt than a bottle of whisky or an old box of chocs. Something good about engraved gifts like a tankard is that the message you put on it will speak directly to the person you love and it can say anything you like.

Sometimes ladies can try to be as tough as the boys too, they might say: 'get me anything' or even 'get me nothing, I don't need anything', but the truth is something like a trinket box with a message engraved in to the lid can be wonderful for the woman who has everything. It has been engraved especially for her and it will be unlike anything else she owns because of that.

Special occasions are 'special', so they require some thought and attention if you really want to take part and make someone happy. Think about the gifts that you may have received over the years that really made you laugh and smile.
Doubtlessly, they will have been personal to you, special thoughts and messages which showed you how well your friends knew you or how much you were loved.

Engraved gifts give you the chance to express something in words you might never get chance to say in person. Sometimes we can't tell someone we love them because it seems too mushy, or because we're too shy. But you can tell someone you love them with an engraved present and show them too.

It's worth remembering that people will inevitably associate any gift you give them with how you feel about them pretty engraved gifts show thought and appreciation. A pretty thing, for a pretty person is a natural train of thought.

So, next time you're having trouble deciding between the generic bath salts, the generic chocolates and all the other generic rubbish, stop and have a think because that's all it takes a thought and you could get your friend or family member something so much more fitting.
