Glamorous and Amorous Anniversary Gifts

For married couples there are two major 'loved up days' each year. There's Valentine's Day and there's your wedding anniversary. Both are opportunities to show your husband or wife how much you love them, how happy you are to be married to them and most importantly, how incredibly sexy you are.

Some of us love getting dressed up and do it all year round but if you're a busy body and a workaholic like so many other people, your partner might be more used to seeing you in your pyjamas than a nice shirt or dress. If that sounds like you, your anniversary is the perfect opportunity to glam up and show your man or woman what a great catch you are.

It's time to grab the smear-proof lipstick or an ironed shirt, wear his favourite perfume or her fondest cologne and look your best for the person you love. It's time to dazzle! Who needs exciting anniversary gifts when you're married to the sexiest person you know?

There are lots of tricks to helping your spouse get in a loving mood and remember what first attracted him or her to you. Think about your first dates and what made them special then try to incorporate something in to your day that will spark off some memories. Did you go to a specific restaurant or see something beautiful? Did you kiss beneath the stars? Ever smooch in the back row of a movie theatre? Re-visit sexy and romantic memories and share them again together.

Fun Anniversaries

The anniversary gifts you choose for your wife or husband don't have to be material objects. You can promise to make a romantic effort one night a week and have a frequent 'couple day', or you can run your partner a bath and give them a glass of champagne and some strawberries. The amount of time and effort you put in can often be more appreciated than the amount of money you spend. Especially at times like this when the economy is a sinking ship!

Being sexy is often about spontaneity and doing the unexpected. It's about charming and surprising treats like finding out that those glossy tights your wife is wearing are really stockings and suspenders or discovering the flowers your husband ordered on the doorstep first thing in the morning.

Anniversary gifts can be flirty, fun and exciting:- you could write a traditional love letter or poem, have a box of chocolates delivered to your wife's work at lunch time, or even take a half day off work and prepare a candle lit meal. You don't have to spend much money to do any of these things and they can be such memorable gestures.

You're allowed to act like love struck teenagers on your wedding anniversary so when you're choosing anniversary gifts don't be afraid to express yourself. Engraved gifts with loving messages make excellent anniversary gifts because they will be cherished for years to come. You can get champagne glasses engraved, for example, or cufflinks. Both are glamorous and are bound to get used on special occasions.

Romantic Escapes

A romantic weekend away can be a superb way to celebrate your marriage. It can be like a mini honeymoon together. You can stop thinking about work and all of the ordinary stuff you have to deal with at home and clear your head.

It's good to get away for so many reasons. Tickets to Paris or another special destination make for great anniversary gifts and spending the night together in a hotel can help you both to remember how lucky you are to have each other.

If hotels seem too expensive, you could have a special day together with an experience day. If you're thrill seekers there's everything from sky diving to race car driving on offer, but for traditional romance, there are some excellent packages for couples which range from dinner and a night at the theatre, through to dance lessons or a day behind the wheel of a classic car perfect for a picnic.

If getting away from it all is too expensive then why not make your home a haven instead and take care of each other for the night. Play some of your favourite music, sip good wine, eat delicious food and talk about all the wonderful times you've spent together. Think about how you both met and how you've both changed since then, - but are still so good together!

In some ways, you may find that you've already got the best anniversary gifts in the world already - each other.
