No matter how many shopping days, weeks or even months we are away from Christmas, many of us are constantly on the lookout for Christmas gifts. If we see something that might well be suitable for Auntie Mavis we will buy it if the price is right, despite the fact that it is only the month of March and a long way from Christmas. Then there are the rest of us who leave buying the Christmas gifts until the last few weeks, and still manage to get everything done on time.

We all look forward to Christmas Day, when all the organising, panicking, inviting of family, booking of hotels and defrosting of unfortunate poultry has occurred and we can at last sit back and enjoy the fruits of all our labours, in between leaping up every half hour to baste the turkey and top up everyone's drinks. But the prospect of this coming Christmas and the expense that it will incur is probably making many people wonder if they should take to a mountain cave and hide out until it is all over. It is going to be financially tough for most people this year, and we will be looking for ways to provide all the Christmas trimmings without spending so much and without too much stress.

None of us want to let the kids down. Their anticipation of a looming Christmas keeps them going right through the first school term starting in September right up to the big day, and all that they can think about is all the Christmas gifts they hope to receive and the chance of a sprinkling of snow, so that they can build a Christmas snowman. There is no guaranteeing that the snow will appear, but you can certainly make sure that there are some wonderful Christmas gifts under the Christmas tree, and not just for the kids, and there is definitely no need to spend a fortune in order to keep everyone happy. Give yourself a limit on how much you plan to allow yourself to spend on each person and stick to it. Be realistic about your limit though, otherwise you may be restricting yourself too much.

A group Christmas gift is a great way of spending that little bit extra, but in real terms you will have saved money. For example, there are some amazing experience day presents for two that make great Christmas gifts. A Break for Two in Tyr Graig Castle in Wales makes a very impressive Christmas gift and a great present for your deserving parents, who will relish a short break after the stress and strain of a family Christmas. They can take this break in elegant surroundings when it suits them and enjoy the Cardigan Bay sunsets, take in the beautiful North Wales coastal scenery and take some refreshing walks in Snowdonia. In fact this lovely Christmas gift will be a winner with any couple that you want to treat to something extra special. This Christmas gift will not leave you penniless and in one go you have made two people very happy.

For that cheeky teenage sister, cousin or friend, a great but inexpensive
Christmas gifts that will have everyone wanting to dip in, is a Naughty but Nice Lip Gloss Set. This Christmas gift includes 4 delicious lip glosses in containers designed to look like scrummy little cakes. If you are on an extremely tight budget, or have several stockings to fill, you could easily divide this Christmas gift between four different recipients, especially if you gift wrap them thoughtfully.

For the member of the family who thinks they know their wines, a great Christmas gift is the Little Black Book of Wine, filled with information on grapes, wines and how to recognise a good bottle from a bottle of plonk. If you have some more money to spend on this person's Christmas gift, a great accompaniment is a Learn It – Wine Tasting Gift Box which includes a test which can qualify the recipient with an NVQ level 2 award. This combination of the two gifts would also make a great Christmas gift to give as a joint present to two people, once again saving you money.

A witty yet shareable Christmas gift for all the family is a Space Duck, a rubber duck for the bath, which can be enjoyed by all the members of your family. Space Duck is more than just your average bath duck, as he has his head inside a space helmet and will happily bob about and entertain everyone in the house when they take to the tub.

A little light hearted fun and frivolity is what is needed at Christmas, so a lovely
Christmas gifts for all mobile phone users is the Santa Girl Mopod. Not only is she cute and seasonal, but she will light up and shake her thing when the phone rings. Such an inexpensive Christmas gift as this will have people begging you to tell them where you found such a great present, and you will be able to buy one for each and every one of them next Christmas.
