How to find gifts that are genuinely funny | Funny Gifts from GettingPersonal.co.uk

Laughter, as a concept, tends to permeate the entire society we live in. Everybody enjoys fun and laughter is a big part of this. We all strive to watch the funniest comedy programmes (which incidentally become massively famous) and we tend to describe a good night or day out as "a good laugh". As such then, when we are thinking of giving presents to people, we often look the funny gifts. This is because we know that funny gifts, as long as they are pitched at the right type of humour, will be extremely well received and well remembered and will give off just the right type of feeling that you wanted to express. Just like it is when searching for other types of presents though, gift ideas can be slightly hard to come by. To assist you in the choosing and buying of the funny gifts I provide some tips and examples below - I'm nice aren't I?

To start with and this is quite a boring tip to start with but bear with me, assess your budget. You can't well go out and buy something without knowing where your parameters lie as regards price. Secondly, you have to judge exactly what message you are trying to give and align this with the sense of humour the person you are giving these funny gifts to. There are not many things worse than going for a grand comedic gesture and it falling flat, but as you are more than likely buying funny gifts for your friends and family you will probably know pretty much what they like anyway. Lastly, you are likely to have a bit more look with general jokes or those funny gifts that pertain to a popular television programme or the like, as if you go looking for an obscure late 1970s comedy show that only did two episodes as an in joke between you and who you are buying for, you might find yourself disappointed! If you're still scratching your head devoid of ideas, allow me to showcase a few funny gifts I've found in order to give you some inspiration.

Another tip I should have expanded on above was that there is no such thing as a shelf life for a sense of humour; unless, of course, you are Alf Garnett, who to me wasn't even funny in his own time. What I mean to say is that older people still have the same desire for fun and laughter and as such should not be cut out of funny gifts. One great example is the Signs For Senior Moments gift. This is a selection of flip cards that can be displayed on a desk or sideboard, or a coffee table if you're so inclined and all of which are guaranteed to raise a smile. With slogans including "It's hard to be nostalgic" and "Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot", these make for extremely funny gifts. If we were to say these things we might be liable to charges of us slandering our nearest and dearest senior citizens, but luckily we can pass this on to them and share in the laughs.

Whilst we are on the subject of humour and funny gifts allow me to pose an age old joke with a very predictable answer: What do you get somebody who has everything? Answer: Nothing. Whilst this joke would seem to end here, you can take it one step further if you would care to by actually buying someone "Nothing" - that is, a ball of nothingness. Putting aside all the unnecessary philosophical and metaphysical issues here, this is ideal among funny gifts for punishing those who are hard to buy for or those who seem to have it all! Another tip along this line of thinking though is to ensure that you give this gift alongside something else, as while it is nice to give, it is also nice to receive and by getting someone just "Nothing" you are opening yourself up to being empty-handed when your gift occasion rolls around!

So, in conclusion, buying funny gifts need not be as difficult as you think. By matching the gift to the person you are buying for's sense of humour, you can guarantee raising a laugh out of them on what is after all meant to be one of the funniest days of the year. As a final tip, team your funny gifts with a funny card and complete a funny birthday package.
