Now, let's just get one thing clear, Christmas is a special time of year for a number of reasons; whether you choose to celebrate its religious meanings or simply embrace the fact that it is a time to unite with the people you love the most, but there's no ignoring the elephant in the room Christmas = Presents!

It may well be about the giving rather than receiving, but in order to fully appreciate the importance of buying the best Xmas gifts, you only need to have been on the receiving end of some real stinkers, and let's face, we've all been there. Anyone who can genuinely say they have torn the wrapping off a jumper that only Noel Edmonds would be proud to wear, or a received some sort of kitchen/bathroom/DIY appliance that they have never and will never use, will know exactly what it's like.

It can be easy to fall into the trap of buying your loved one the exact same Xmas Gifts year in, year out, especially if they do seem to really like or need those comfortable briefs or that familiar perfume. But have you ever really considered how great it might be to know you've bought them exactly what they want without having to be told directly? It is a rarely disputed fact that women make the better shoppers – whether this has anything to do with generally having more experience is a debate probably best left alone. However, when it comes to knowing what makes the men in their lives tick, women are usually one step ahead, whether their partners like it or not. Remember that Christmas is a time for celebration and reconciliation, so don't forget to take lead from those moments in life when all you seem to do is irritate one another.
