If You're A Cheeky Elf Then Treat Yourself | Christmas Gifts from GettingPersonal.co.uk

I love buying Christmas gifts for all the family and my numerous and extremely picky and choosy friends. I also enjoy working my way through the seemingly endless list of Christmas gifts that I need to purchase for the kids, my own, their friends and the many children that my friends have produced over the years. And some of them are expecting babies as I write, so that will mean a few extra little people in line for one of my lovely Christmas gifts this year. I enjoy buying the Christmas gifts, but am absolutely rubbish at wrapping them. I could make the crown jewels look like something out of a lucky dip with my wrapping skills, but my daughter is a whizz with a bit of wrapping paper, some satin ribbon and a pair of scissors. So I hand that tedious responsibility over to her, because she enjoys herself immensely, especially as we both have a great incentive for egging us on, getting the job done and then giving ourselves a little pat on the back. Our reward for getting the Christmas gifts chosen, bought and wrapped is to give ourselves an early Christmas gift. It is nothing too extravagant, but it certainly gets us organised and cracking on with what needs doing, as the sooner we have everything finished, the sooner we can enjoy ourselves.

Organising everything that needs doing over the Christmas season is exhausting to say the least, even if you do have a helper to wrap up the Christmas gifts. Last year my daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a bit of well deserved pampering as an early Christmas gift. Even though there was no element of surprise for either of us, we had an amazing time together and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with this fabulous experience day Christmas gift. After much deliberation we plumped for the Pamper Day with Three Treatments for Two. We both enjoyed a half hour facial and half hour massage. I then had my eyebrows shaped whilst my daughter had a manicure. We then spent the rest of the day like princesses, enjoying all the facilities at the fitness centre, including sauna, spa pool and swimming pool, before having a spot of lunch and hitting the gym. We could get used to days like these and our Christmas gift treat gave us renewed energy to face all the other arrangements that we had to attend to for the Christmas break.

I have been known to indulge in a few other experience days as little treats for me alone and not just as Christmas gifts either. My excuse is that if I intend to give these pampering sessions to my close friends as Christmas gifts, then perhaps I should sample them first. The ultimate stress buster for everyone who wants a break from the seasonal mayhem is a Floatation therapy session which makes a fabulous Christmas gift for anyone you know who is feeling the pressure. This Christmas gift is one of the most soothing and peaceful experiences, as you float inside a private tank for over an hour. It has to be experienced to be believed.

I already have my Christmas gift treat for this year marked out. This is going to be a fabulous opportunity for me to learn how to create a feeling of well being and get qualified at the same time. I am definitely sampling this Christmas gift early as I intend giving this to several of my friends who need to learn the art of chill. The Learn It Wellbeing Gift Box contains specialist information and techniques with guidance from experts on all sorts of useful aspects of wellbeing, to keep me healthy and happy even when I am under pressure. And with an 'NVQ level 2' qualification; I'll be on my way to helping other people too.

This year I plan to treat my lovely daughter to a Cinema Trip for Four as her pre Christmas gift, which I shall give to her when she has done her best with the huge job of wrapping all the Christmas gifts. She will adore this Christmas gift treat and so will her friends.

Or maybe she and I could do a little mother – daughter bonding with an Indoor Skydiving for Two experience day as our Christmas gift to us. This is something that I've always longed to do, without having the earth rushing up to meet me. A Christmas gift like this could be just what I need to blow the cobwebs away and freshen up the mind for a severe bout of seasonal demands.

So, you see, there is no need to make a chore out of buying all those Christmas gifts as long as you remember to buy something for yourself whilst you are at it. After all, who is it that makes things happen around here? I know I deserve that extra Christmas gift and I am sure you do too.
