Inject Some Fun By Selecting The Right Ones | Party Supplies from GettingPersonal.co.uk
Choosing the right
Party Supplies
comes down to selecting a theme and then running with it. For example a beach party is an easy theme to create (even for a house party!) The party supplies are inexpensive and all you need is some tropical cocktails, beach towels on the floor, humid rooms and to get out some souvenirs and holiday clothes. Stock up on grass skirts; let your guests nibble on fresh fruit and light some mango, pineapple and coconut scented candles for a really tropical tiki hut experience!
That's quite an eccentric example, but there are loads of inspiring party ideas online and you've probably got a few ideas yourself. In this article, to help out those of you who are not quite as seasoned when it comes to party planning we're going to look at two very different popular types of party and tell you how to make yours go with a bang! We'll cover everything from party supplies to the entertainment so sit back relax and let us inspire you.
The Student Style House Party
The core of a student style house party has to be the party supplies. There's the beer, the food, the music and the things which set a funky mood. Balloons for example are great because they will be batted around a room, burst and played with by tipsy revellers.
To create a 'beer fridge' make as much space as you can in your existing fridge, which might involve not stocking up for a day or two before the party and then buy beer on offer from the supermarket and stack the bottles up. Make sure everyone knows they can come over casually dressed but that they should be prepared to dance and have a good time.
When it comes to food at a student style party you don't need to go to any great lengths, just order some pizzas from a local pizzeria and let everyone dig in. A few packets of crisps or nuts and a variety of toppings on some pizzas should be all the food you'll need!
For additional entertainment you can set up your TV to play cult films, such as classic science fiction, or Tarantino style gangster films on low volume in the background. To make them interesting while the DJ is playing some music, simply turn on subtitles and you've got a welcome distraction. To keep things easy to clean up you may want to visit a

shop and get some paper plates, plastic cups and tablecloths, then when you're done you can bundle everything up and throw it away.
The Classic Dinner Party
Something really fabulous about dinner parties is how sophisticated and elegant they can be if you want them to. They don't have to be deadly serious to be fun, intellectual and rewarding. Imagine being surrounded by your closest friends with all of the party supplies purchased and in place and being able to relax and enjoy the evening. Dinner parties are a great way to spend a demure or debonair birthday and they can make you feel like a movie star.
To start off the evening you could consider throwing a wine tasting. To do this, you might like to purchase your vino party supplies from a website such as: Naked Wines, or even take advantage of a special offer from another wine club. Then, you and your friends can wax poetic while you sip and you never know, you might find a wine you really like! Following that it can be nice to have some starters to soak up your 'tasting.'
With a sophisticated dinner party there are a few fun things to plan in advance, one of these things is where to get
Party Supplies
like food and napkins. You might like to cook for yourself or you could opt to hire a caterer. Various companies like M & S have dinner party food ordering services and Urban Food Company operate in London. They are prepared to come to your home and cook you a lavish meal for a set fee then clean up afterwards!
Something else you might need to consider for a classic dinner party is seating arrangements. If you want your guests to mingle it might be advantageous to decide where they will all sit and use place settings. That way you can get your friends who haven't ever met before to chat to each other. We also recommend adding seasonal themes to a dinner party depending on what time of year it is. This will help stop your parties from blurring together in the minds of your guests and mean that you can alter the decor by adding table decorations which are seasonal and comforting!
