There's a reason that as children we were always told to leave a snack out for Santa and this directly correlates to the size of his belly. In our house, it was a glass of milk and a mince pie for Father Christmas and a Carrot for Rudolph but every family seemed to leave Father Christmas a different treat. If your Father Christmas likes to eat plenty of treats during the festive season Christmas gifts for him should reflect that and be full of sugary delight. Let him know how delicious he is by getting Christmas gifts for him that are utterly mouth watering.

In my friend's house Santa didn't get the milk and a mince pie that he got in my house, he got some shortbread and some good Scotch because she was Scottish. As such, I've always been a firm believer that Santa was very fond of a tipple. With that in mind, we've got a few ideas for great Christmas gifts for him that might get him a little bit merry.

One of our favourite Christmas drinks is port and a Vintage Warre's Port Gift Box is a great gift, they're £50 each but they come beautifully presented and you can include a handwritten gift card and have them sent directly to the man of your dreams wherever he might be. If that's not up his street what about a bottle of personalised lowland whisky, you can add a heartfelt message to the label and even add a special wooden presentation box to give it to him in style.

For a wine and champagne lover you can't really beat a Champagne and Wine gift though and it's even better if you can get it personalised. As it's a DVD game you can just put it on the telly and all sit around to play together. A table football soccer game could also be one of those gifts he always wanted as a child but never was given, they're cheaper these days too and you can grab one for under £30. If the man in your life loves watching matches and having some friends over then what better way to unwind afterwards than to have a few games of table soccer?
