Every man has secretly dreamed of being a King for the day - or a Laird or Monarch depending on where his allegiances lie! It may be that he struggles to even attain dominium over the living room or his shed, but when it comes to birthdays, Christmas and other gift occasions, you can help him to achieve his dream of Kingly status with some regal gifts for him!

Of course it's unlikely that your budget will run to a castle - or even a crown - however there are plenty of gifts for him which blend luxury and classic status for the ultimate in high living. Bear this in mind when he starts to irritate you with incessant football coverage, when he knows that Coronation Street is about to come on - it's great to have the moral high ground!

Your own King will need gifts for him that celebrate his superior talents in the traditional fields of horse riding, surveying estates and generally being regal. Just in case he's not had much practice at any of these things, start from scratch with a Horse Riding experience day. After a hard day's riding, ruling the lands and keeping marauding peasants under control, your King will need to return home and relax, probably with a regal takeaway from the local Tandoori. As it's his special day, allow him such sins as putting his feet on the coffee table and insisting on watching 'the best of' goal DVDs and treat him to the second part of his special day - a bottle of ten year old 'Bar de Sigognac' Armagnac! Hopefully given the fantastic lengths you went to create his special day, he'll be inclined to prepare something similarly excellent for when your own birthday comes around.. however it's best not to leave such things to chance, so feel free to resort to the old female tactics of leaving out open brochures, or open internet pages linking directly to particular gifts if you want to ensure that you are as equally impressed with your presents when the time comes around!
