As Christmas bears down upon us again (doesn't it always roll around so fast?), we are again tossed into the whirlpool of running around breathlessly organising and sorting everything and everybody out. The festive season is, on the face of it, fun and frolics lit by colourful lights reflected in miles and miles of tinsel. However, under the surface, there is often a lot of stress and worry and work to be done and one of the tasks that has to be attended to is the buying of gifts and stocking fillers for people.

In a lot of ways, buying the actual "big" presents isn't too stressful or difficult beyond actually getting them. This is a task made immeasurably easier by the internet and those who are savvy will get on the 'net and order these gifts way ahead of time and having them delivered to the door. The only issue here is making sure the young children do not catch sight of "Santa" bringing gifts clad in cardboard boxes that have been gotten out of a transit van on the 20th of December! No, the real problem with gift buying is when you have to look for stocking fillers, little presents that complement the main gifts that are being given. You will no doubt aspire to get gifts that are at once quirky, unique and, to be honest, value for money and I have had a good look around some gift sites and cherry picked a few good options for stocking fillers that would fit into these categories. One thing that will always go down well is something funny and it also goes without saying that funny stocking fillers and gifts in general, tend to stick in the head. Allow me to give you some background on this first choice. Us men, as a gender, tend to be vilified as rather rude souls, who impertinently itch and scratch themselves and have all the manners and punctiliousness of a bear. Now, this is at least 98 true and to help with this or to at least make our itching slightly more acceptable, be sure to purchase him a Gentleman's Ball Scratcher as a cheeky stocking filler. Useful and almost guaranteed to raise a laugh, this might well be the ultimate manners-corrector among stocking fillers!

The next little knick knack stocking filler I have picked out is a spider catcher. Now, to a lot of you, this will be a glass and whatever magazine is closest to hand - to the more callous, it is whatever is easiest to hand to hit out with! However, to those absolutely terrified of those over-friendly arachnids, such as myself, neither of these options is to quite to my liking. I don't particularly like getting too close to the eight legged horrors, but neither do I feel much like senselessly killing another being that isn't actually that much of a danger. So, this Spider Catcher is a tool that requires no batteries and no chemicals, you just merely grip the insect or spider in the soft tentacles at the end of the pole and then release them out the window or into the garden or whatever. This cheap and immensely useful gift (I would know) is perfect among stocking fillers, as there are not many Christmas gifts out there that help dispose of alien lifeforms like spiders that terrify the likes of me!

Stocking fillers are also easy when you take into account the idea that you can make fun and exciting stocking fillers from normal everyday items such as calendars, diaries and notebooks, simply by personalising them with a fun, thoughtful or hilarious message. There are a few websites that can make up these type of stocking fillers for you to order and this definitely takes some of the load off when looking for good stocking fillers.

Christmas then is about a lot of things, a lot of which are a bit troublesome and take a lot of work. However, when it comes to stocking fillers, there is plenty of choice out there on the net and I hope the above has given you some ideas to what you can get and has taken some of the worry away.
