There are so many events in the year and every season brings new opportunities to get your friends and family together to celebrate. However, instead of buying party supplies over and over again, you might consider making some key purchases to save money!

You will probably have at least 5 parties in a 12 month period if you include birthdays, picnics, BBQs and seasonal get-togethers such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween, so instead of spending money every single time you celebrate why not plan ahead with all those different gatherings in mind.

After all, there are party supplies which you will need for every single one, basic things like booze and decorations, so why not buy some of these in bulk and use them for all your celebrations. Some people already do this with champagne for example, and have a few bottles tucked away for birthdays and other special events. Apply the same principle to other party supplies and you'll never be out of pocket because of a party again.

Stock Up
It's a good idea to stock up on wine especially if you like drinking it at the weekends anyway and there are tons of wine clubs out there which will offer you special offers for signing up. Some require you to subscribe or tie you in to a contract but some other companies like Naked Wines, for example offer you benefits with no obligation to purchase more wine! If you already have a few boxes full of bottles stashed away somewhere, then there's no need to spend tons of money on alcoholic party supplies several times a year.

You can apply this to cheap beer offers whenever you see them in the supermarket and store that up too, so that you take advantage of the best offers whilst they're still going. You'll find you need booze for dinner parties, Christmas gatherings, birthday parties, BBQs, picnics and even need reserves for Bonfire Night and Halloween so it makes sense to prepare in advance and buy your favourite drinks at competitive prices. This article is all about getting party supplies together for any and all eventualities and alcohol is just one party 'must have.'

Choose Essentials
Another essential is dinner wear and lots of people opt for paper plates and cups when they throw a party because they make it easy to clean up. These are another item which is cheaper to bulk buy and store, however, an even more cost effective option (over the course of the year) is to buy good quality plastic plates and cutlery that are washable. Plastic plates and cutlery are dishwasher safe, don't break and can be reused time and again for BBQs and picnics as well as indoor parties! They come in funky colourful designs and look great.

You may need to invest in 20 or more plates, but once they're bought that's it. No more paper plates or damage to the environment. Sturdy plastic cups and wine glasses are also party supplies we'd recommend for all of life's parties and celebrations.

Decorations can be expensive, especially if they are branded with certain characters and bought from online stores which specialise in party supplies. However, all celebrations no matter what the event are more fun with basic, simple, multicoloured balloons so stocking up on those is great! Equally, party poppers are good for all occasions and their 'gun-powder' smell is perfect on bonfire night as well as birthdays, whilst their colourful streamers also look brilliant at Christmas time.

By stocking up on coloured A4 paper you can print off big signs by allowing for a letter on each page and stringing them together to make a banner, but you can also use coloured paper and sticky tape to make paper chains to hang around a room.

Create a Basic Party
Think about the functionality of your home and imagine creating a dance floor, a chill out zone and a bar area. Usually the kitchen makes a good bar, a bedroom makes a good cloakroom for piling coats and a living room with the furniture removed can make a good dance floor - for example. Once you have an idea of how your home could become a great night club, then whenever you throw a party you will only need to add a bit of themed decoration!

After you've got the basics covered you can add large cut out pink and red hearts to walls for Valentine's Day, collect clocks in a main room for New Year's Eve or add spooky decorations to your basic 'party plan' for Halloween. By planning ahead and having most of the party supplies you'll need in your home already you will be able to throw affordable parties more often and save cash too!
