I have to admit to being a big kid when it comes to buying Xmas presents. I love everything about Xmas. The big build up is so exciting for me, even if I do hear the first Xmas carol of the season in the stores as early as September. I spend a good 2 months hunting down all those lovely goodies that I intend to give as Xmas presents to my nearest and dearest. The fact that I enjoy shopping makes the whole experience all the more enjoyable and once I have lined my purchases out across the living room floor, I start planning the way in which I am going to decorate the wrapping paper, as I often produce my own patterns with little stencils cut out of thick cardboard and smeared in poster paints, or shapes cut into potatoes to produce pretty stamps of snowmen, Xmas trees, holly sprigs and Xmas puddings.

There is one great stumbling block for me though, in finding the right Xmas present for my partner. Despite the fact that I know his likes and dislikes better than his mother and also am aware of what things he already has and what he would really like to have, it is so hard for me to find an Xmas present that is unusual, original and that has a certain element of surprise. I am not one to give him the Xmas present that he has been hinting at for weeks, preferring to find something that will express my love and appreciation for him, with an Xmas present that is out of the ordinary. I prefer to leave the giving of predictable Xmas presents to everybody else, but I want the Xmas present that I give to my guy to stand out among the rest, to show that I have given a great deal of consideration to the whole matter. This year, I am not going to tie myself up in knots, searching desperately for an Xmas present with oodles of charm, originality and sophistication. This year I have made a short list of Xmas presents that would suit him down to the ground and then all I will have to do is make my final decision. I will keep that list to refer to when it comes to Valentine's Day, his next birthday and our anniversary and be happy knowing that no more decisions need to be made as to what I can give him, when the occasion arises. I can even find something on the list for his Xmas presents for next year too. And the beauty of it is; I don't even have to set foot out of my door because this wonderful gift and all of the other Xmas presents that I have ordered will be delivered, as if by magic, to my doorstep.

If you are having trouble finding something wonderful to give to your Mr. Wonderful, I am going to share with you the contents of my list of gifts that I am about to commence working my way through.
