Don't you think it is the best feeling in the world to have someone to love? There is a saying that states that it is better to love than be loved. Yes, I know that having someone special in your life, who will love you unconditionally in return is a million times better than having to silently suffer a case of unrequited love, but being able to express your emotions to someone close is what being human is all about. The search for that special person, the one with whom you can share those special experiences, wonderful holidays, romantic candle lit dinners and evenings with close friends, can be a long and laborious one. Some of us pair up with the girl or boy next door, that special someone who has been in our lives from the word 'go'. Others may not find The One until way past retirement age, but this makes it all the more romantic. Mind you, searching is one thing, but the chances are you will probably run into the love of your life on a trip around the supermarket when neither of you is looking your best, rather than at a night club or party where you have gone all out to vamp yourself up to the point where your skin is polished and your shoes are pinching.

It can be a steep learning curve for many of us, as we make and break close and not so close relationships with people we originally considered to be in the running for the number one place. When it seems as if all our closest friends are pairing off permanently, committing to a life together and singing the praises of each other to the point of nausea, it can be all too tempting to try to force the issue and persuade ourselves that the hunky guy up the road with the Old English Sheep Dog and the well formed biceps is the one for us...
Our advice? It is always a good idea to take things slowly. The big love can take us by surprise and may even turn out to be someone we have known as a friend for many years and who we never considered to be in the running, until one day our eyes meet. But, I am getting carried away. I am just a big old softy when it comes to the love thing and want everyone I know to be happily involved with Mr or Miss Right. When at last you find this person, the wind beneath your wings, do everything that you can to keep them happy.

Little romantic gestures from out of the blue will tell them that you love them, even if you have not uttered those little words to them for a while. When you are up to your elbows in domestic chores, when the kids are playing up and you are tearing your hair out under the strain, when your wonderful partner is suffering from a severe bout of man flu, or when you have had that inevitable lovers' tiff, personalised cards with a special message will have the effect of waving a magic wand, soothing that fevered brow, lifting the spirit. Most of all, saying 'I love you' to someone special with personalised cards tells them that you are thinking of them.
