                Save the Pennies - Selecting the Right Party Supplies
            
                There's always a reason to throw a party, and everyone enjoys one regardless of the occasion! Whether it's a landmark birthday party, a wedding anniversary bash, an office Christmas party, a kids' gathering, or simply an impromptu gathering of friends in your home, parties are fantastic fun and put everyone in a great mood...

People also tend to be split between those who enjoy hosting a party - and those who find that the prospect strikes real fear into their hearts! For those natural party planners, every element provides them with fun and enjoyment - as they make lists of party supplies, entertainments, food, drink and activities for their guests to enjoy... and for those who are perhaps less natural planners, panic and a blank shopping list can occur!

However, those who find the party planning process a mystery or simply a chore - there are plenty of party supplies to make the job easier and guarantee that your party will have the impact you are aiming for! For the novice or reluctant party host, the trick is to remember that planning is the key.... we've all been to those 'spur of the moment' parties that just spontaneously happened and instantly entered the halls of party fame and legend... but to be fair, those parties still need some existing ingredients to 'spontaneously' happen - some music, a cleared space, and food and drink at the very least!

To make things easier for you, arm yourself with a pad and paper and start to put some thoughts around the party that you'll be organising. At this point you may want to speak to someone else for tips and advice - or simply another brain! Think about what type of party it is - for example is it a daytime kids' party or a sophisticated grown up dinner party at night? You'll need to think about guest lists, themes and food and drink. Food should be easy to eat standing up and food party supplies should include things such as vegetable crudités with dips, crisps, small savoury biscuits, vol au vonts, mini pizzas and small finger food items for a grown up party. For the kids, think crisps, small sandwiches, little cakes and sweets - maybe even some grapes and fruit chunks to try to tempt them into something healthy! Other party supplies you might need include plastic cups and plates - so there's no washing up afterwards, decorations such as streamers, banners and even party bags, and also a good array of drinks. Pop for the kids, wine, spirits and cocktail mixers for the adults - this is an important aspect for all age groups! (But one preferably not to mix up, however...)

You may also want to try some more quirky party supplies to get people talking. There are various things to amuse and entertain guests - exploding crackers, party poppers, party games and other such diversions. If you are holding an outdoor summer party - for example a barbeque - there is also scope for real fun and simply daft party supplies... for example, why not get your guests in the mood with a condiment gun! This is a great accessory for barbeques or more informal dinner parties - and it's a very messy accessory which will cause laughter all round.... basically the gun is loaded up with your favourite sauces - ketchup, mustard, brown sauce or mayo - and it squirts your guests burgers or sausage buns with a fantastic dollop of sauce! Be warned though - it is great fun but somewhat messy - and you might wish to prevent your guests from entering into a full on food fight - particularly if they are under 15 years of age - or they are adults who've been enjoying rather too much sangria at your summer outdoor bash!

Regardless of what type of party you are planning, you will probably want to keep some memories from the occasion - particularly if you are liable to attack the punch quite early and risk everything passing in a haze! So again, look at party supplies such as a lovely guest book for people to write in their messages as a little memory.
