Surprise Surprise with a First Prize Party :: Party Supplies
Parties of all types tend to have prizes involved! Whether it's for young children, playing 'pass the parcel' or grownups taking part in charades, everyone loves knowing there's a little party prize on hand for the victor! It's the small touches like this that also help your party to go with a bang, so it's one to think of when planning your celebration - games and distractions for the guests to enjoy, and some little gifts and prizes to reward the participants with! You'll be amazed at how even the most sensible and mature guests go crazy for the prospect of winning themselves a
party
prize!
Kids' Party Prizes
Think party prizes, and you think of kids automatically! With all the traditional games that kids of all generations enjoy - pass the parcel, pin the tail, maybe 'tag' in the garden or charades, there needs to be some gifts to reward the winners along the way! These don't need to be big prizes, however - look for little favours such as sweets, plastic toys, pens and crayons, books or other similar small gifts depending on the age group. For younger children you might also want to make up party bags with cakes, balloons, streamers and some little sweets and small gifts - kids love them - and it's also the only way to get them out of the house when you feel the
party
has gone on long enough and it's time for everyone to get going...!
'Grown up Party' Prizes
Grownups don't have to miss out on the prizes when it comes to parties! Why not have some fun with party games, and attach some little prizes to them - have a small stock on hand such as chocolates, bottles of wine, little favours etc. You could even have fun by digging out the party games you enjoyed as a child, such as musical statues or musical chairs and enjoy them once again after a few cocktails! Be warned of course that this can lead to as many tumbles as raucous laughter, but as long as everyone enjoys themselves (and you've cleared the party area of any breakable items in advance...) well it should all go down very well! You could also hold a dancing competition with prizes available for the winners - or maybe have an impromptu X-Factor style contest with 'auditions' for guests to show off their classic party piece!
For smaller groups, board or interactive games are great options. Why not try the classic murder mystery game in a board format - the champagne murder mystery set has everything needed to set up your mystery - everyone who participates becomes a suspect, and later on in the evening one of your guests will be revealed as the dastardly murderer! The game has everything needed for your party, including a planner, booklets to explain the characters and get everyone into the spirit of things, roles, information and background, including some interesting secrets! This is a great way to have a slightly different party experience, with everyone fully involved and engaged in the game and not having to make polite conversation or simply attack the wine supplies! You could also ask everyone to arrive dressed as their character by sending out their details in advance - and decorate the room and table according to the theme. For example, if it's a period mystery drama, then you could serve food reminiscent of the era, and dig out some classic cocktail mixes to add extra authenticity! You can also choose the background music accordingly and dim the lighting - try candles and tea lights for a spooky and charged atmosphere! You're guaranteed that everyone will have fun with your champagne murder mystery game - and it will definitely provide a talking point for the party!
Once you've concluded the proceedings and the 'murderer' has been apprehended and detained (or at least sent to the kitchen for refills), then why not celebrate the next stage of the party entertainments - possibly dancing and inevitably more drinks - by letting off the champagne confetti blaster! This is a really great little gizmo - it's shaped like a champagne bottle but is packed with streamers that will go off with a bang when you pull it's cord - showering your guests with confetti, streamers and a good few whistles and bangs along the way!
Hopefully these ideas will have got your mind ticking - so get creative and have fun! Your
party
will be one for the books, and it will always be said that you went to great lengths to make your guests feel special with your fun games and thoughtful prizes!
