Top 5 Gifts that promise fun for everyone | Fun Gifts from GettingPersonal.co.uk
There is an old adage that mainly pertains to Christmas, but does hold true in a universal sense, that it is better to give than receive. Now, I am not going to critique the ins and outs of this byzantine moral debate, but what I will say is that it is often actually better to give a gift that isn't just good for the one person, but for the whole. In this way, you have managed to make giving almost as good as receiving by getting yourself in on it! Only a truly selfish person would get, say, a board game, and ruthlessly clutch it to their chest and refuse to let others play. So, the aim is to find
fun gifts
that have something to offer everyone, and five of these kinds are discussed here below.
The first thing up might not be exactly the best example of the values I explained above, as if I was to receive it I would be heading for the hills to hide my stash. Usually, a hamper conjures up images of a sunny hillside, with bikes propped up against a tree in the background, as a fabulously in love couple feed each other Stilton and sip chilled white wine. This image however, is nowhere near the image given when the phrase "Retro Sweet Hamper" is heard. For those of a sweet tooth, these fun gifts of sweet hampers are brilliant, as they stock all your favourite goodies from yesteryear, and all within a very nice hamper. It is fun as, really, you should share the sweets out but, having said that, I'd be rather against such an act of generosity when it comes to sweets…
After all that sugar you might be looking for some
fun gifts
that get your heart racing and burn off some of that stacked up energy. At this point, you might be visibly sagging at the idea of hard exercise, traversing miles of cross country track or lifting insurmountable weights in a gym. Relax though, as this is after all about fun gifts, so our exercise comes in space; well, on space. The Space Bouncer Racing Set is the solution to your exercise needs, and though I doubt any fitness trainer would advise it, getting a friend to race you around a self-made obstacle course sounds extremely fun! The kit comes with two space bouncers and, helpfully enough, a pump to fill them with. Happy Bouncing!
Now, as the popularity of games such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero attests, music themed fun gifts are becoming more and more sophisticated. From twanging your "guitar" on the above, to playing the piano on your iPhone, even the most tone deaf can now be smacking out rock n roll like a Gallagher. Into this then comes the V-Bear Air Guitar. Whilst it looks as though Pete Townshend has had a good go at it, it is meant to come in two pieces. You slip the body over your head, and then move the head of the guitar around to get your music going. With a couple of these, a bass and a drum kit, you could have yourself a little garage band going, and if not you still have something fun to do with your mates.
I'm afraid I have to change tact here, and insist that life isn't always fun; sorry, it's true. There are jobs to do and chores to carry out, and we expend an ungodly amount of energy avoiding those horrid jobs. However, allow me to show how to inject some smiles into this. Among the fun gifts on offer on the market, not many are aimed at solving complex, internecine family warfare but the Wheel of Responsibility does just that. By a simple spinning of the wheel, tasks and chores can be left to the hand of fate, and whilst the unlucky one trudges off to empty the bin or wash up, the rest can have fun by laughing at them; schadenfreude, got to love it.
The last thing for your
fun gifts
consideration is at once more sedate and yet more adult, and elementary; a book of drinking games. This is definitely fun for all, as going through a list of drinking games on your own is, well, a bit tragic isn't it? Crack the book, a pack of cards, a dice and some bottles out, and get some friends over (over 18, of course) to enjoy a night you won't forget (or remember).
All in all, there are a huge number of fun gifts out there, and this is just a brief selection of what is on offer.
