                It is somewhat symptomatic of the way our society appears to be going that the concept of family is being more and more pushed to the margins. Where once the nuclear family (I don't mean Big Boy, Oppenheimer etc) used to be the central force in our society, it would seem that families have fragmented somewhat. This is evidenced by a lack of a family all sitting around a table and eating and just eating in front of the TV, as well as taking the latter argument further. With computers and televisions in bedrooms, people tend to wander off and do their own thing rather than be sociable and sit together.

With this in mind then, you might be looking for some fun gifts, or tips on gift ideas, for a family you well know and love. It is always nice to do things together and as such you should probably look for things that will engage the entire family as a group and not as separate people. What people don't tend to realise is that there are great Experience Days for groups and families too. You might think that this next extremely fun gift would only be of interest if you have the second name Nolan, Jackson or Brady, but not necessarily. With the advent and surging popularity of shows like the X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent, why don't you take your tuneful family into the studio for a fun day recording?! One particular thing I think would make for a great, fun family gift is a photographic portrait gift set. This includes a session where the family is put into a comfortable location and a set of relaxed, natural pictures are taken. They are then made up into a portrait and other selected photos that are then posted to you. In this way, they can then decorate their home with images of themselves and their children, giving the house a warm familial atmosphere. 

Not all fun gifts need involve going out and doing things and there are plenty of other items that make for good family gift ideas. Following on from the above, you can kill two birds with one stone with a clock and picture frame put together! Bear with me, as it sounds crazy, but it looks great. Around the clock face is a circle of picture frames, perfect for slotting in pictures of those in the home and other family members. Suffice to say, there are not many fun gifts that can both tell the time and show off your family. Lastly, people look at clocks all the time, so you know your favourite pictures will be looked at too.

All in all, what fun gifts you want to get for the family of your choice really depends on what they like. After all, every family is different in their own little (or big) ways. Whereas one family would delight in a day out at a theme park, hitting the adrenaline spiking rides and generally screaming their heads off, another might like the more sedate pursuit of a guest pass to a museum, for instance. In any case, there are a lot of fun gifts out there especially suited to families, so choosing should not be too much of a problem.
