                This article is great if you're short on inspiration when it comes to buying unique and interesting gifts. Sometimes it can be hard to find unique presents for the people who you care about. Every year millions of people return duplicate items to stores because they got two of the same thing for Christmas, a Birthday or another special occasion. 

This is sad for several reasons firstly it means that we're buying gifts which are commonplace and unoriginal. Secondly, it also means that you can't convey the one of a kind sentiments that you wanted to convey, because someone else bought the exact same gift as you!

No-one wants their gift to be returned by the recipient, so it's worth putting in some thought early on and coming up with a truly original, useful and pretty present. If you really want to guarantee that your gift is completely unique, consider engraved gifts. 

The great thing about engraved gifts is that they offer you the chance to make silver, or silver plated items extra special by inscribing a name or small message for the person you love. Think about what you'll say carefully. 

Messages for engraved gifts can be as funny, affectionate, romantic or sweet as you'd like them to be. You'll need to engage directly with the person who you're giving the gift to. Here are just a few of the types of people who might like to receive, personal, engraved gifts:

Friends and Family at Christmas

Christmas is a great time to give engraved gifts because this is a time of year when duplicate presents are frequently given. Stand out from the crowd by making sure that you offer something as unique as the person you're giving it to. There are tankards and sporting gifts which you can get engraved for sports mad dads as well as other presents that you can add little messages to. Of the many gifts that a wedding couple receives many will inevitably be duplicates. These days most couples choose to go with an individual store and they really just tot up their gifts as store credit to get whatever they like from the selection on offer. 

If you go to a traditional wedding where the gifts are kept on a table or would just prefer to take a gift along yourself, engraved gifts make good wedding presents for several reasons. New Born Babies

It's a special time for any couple welcoming a new born baby in to the world and usually the child has a mass of toys, clothing and other items ready for them before they even arrive home from the hospital. That can make getting special presents harder. 

Debatably there's no one better suited to receiving an engraved gift than a little baby, because as they grow they'll learn to read the message you choose and consider your gift treasure. Another time when unique gifts really matter is Valentine's Day. There seems to be so much rubbish in the shops around this time of the year.
