What's Your Party Piece? Party games - ideas from GettingPersonal.co.uk

Everyone loves a good lively party and there's always a good reason to throw one! Whether it's to celebrate a birthday, a special anniversary... to see in New Year, or even celebrate a football win or simply the fact it's Saturday night - there are plenty of reasons to throw a cracking party and have some fun with friends and family!

We've all grown up with parties of all kinds and know full well what the magic ingredients are to make them a success - good friends and family, some food, a few drinks and some music - and basically just an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment! One key element of making sure your parties are successful, however, is to get the organisation in place well in advance, so you don't find yourself running around like a mad person on the day of the big event!

Having Fun With Party Poppers!

Sometimes little quirky accessories can really help make the party go with a swing - and they don't need to be expensive, big or fancy things - how about something like a pack of pink and silver party poppers, packed into a champagne bottle shaped holder? There are twenty perfect poppers inside and they make a fantastic centrepiece for any party table! Each party popper is decorated in silver and pink and contains silver streamers and foil which will stream across the room with a large pop when they are released! Everyone enjoys a good party popper and they will definitely help to get the proceedings underway and put everyone in the mood for festivities!

Fun And Frolics With Party Games!

Once the poppers are underway, the champagne bottles are fizzing and the finger food is being passed around, you may want to have some fun with a 'death by chocolate' game - of classic murder mystery! This is guaranteed fun for any gathering, particularly if your festivities are of the dinner party variety. The kit has everything you need to enjoy the game - a planner with the rules, party planning tips to set the scene and set up the theme, recipes for the chocolate themed murder and music to set the scene! There are also character books which contain each guest's character's background, role and some juicy secrets for them to treasure.... place cards are set out for each of the characters and there are even party invites for each character to really get the evening into the swing of things! Once you've all gathered, you can watch the DVD which introduces the story... explains the dastardly events which have occurred... places the clues out one by one for the guests to solve - and finally provides the solution to the crime! This really is a fun game which will get everyone into the mood for fun and frolics - even if it does mean one of your guests will have to pop their clogs along the way! (Nothing to do with your cooking this time though! - It's all part of the game!)

These are just a couple of the supplies which will help bring your party to life and make it memorable for your guests. You can also have a lot of fun encouraging everyone to show off their party piece for everyone's entertainment... you'll probably be amazed at the crazy things that your party goers come up with - they say to always watch out for the quiet ones! Of course you can also take the party up a notch by clearing a bit of a dance area and getting your own personal DJ to spin some tunes to get everyone going... just clear away anything breakable beforehand so that your precious valuables are protected from flailing limbs and handbags!

Of course amongst all this noise, fun and excitement, you should also remember to have some fun yourself! Sometimes the host can get so wrapped up in making sure that everyone else is happy that they forget to enjoy their own party! So do yourself a favour, rope in someone else to take those sausage rolls out of the oven, pass the corkscrew to a nearby male and get some passing kids to hurl about some streamers and balloons - and meanwhile you be sure to have some fun mingling with your friends and enjoying a cheeky cocktail or two! Finally, you may also want to put some disposable cameras around the room or little Polaroids so that everyone can enjoy taking some snaps of the party and record the whole affair for posterity - and general embarrassment all round when you all wake up horribly sober the next day! Enjoy your party and have fun - and may it be the first of many!
