Christmas, for the vast majority of people, is just a whirl of parties, drinking, eating, exchanging presents and watching ancient old classic films that drag on interminably across darkening afternoons. Simply put, Christmas is a time for catching up with old friends, sharing some good times with your family and giving and receiving great Xmas presents. However, what a lot of people don't really think about is that Christmas is actually awash with stress, worry and a lot of rushing around. There is the gigantic Christmas food shopping, when, for the only time that year, you will buy all sorts of food that you will more than likely NEVER eat and will clutter the cupboards until you do the Spring Clean and chuck out beetroot and 37 different types of nuts. Of course, with the internet, there are many ways now to take some of the load off, by getting your Xmas gifts on-line and having them delivered, saving you that hellish trawl up the high street, fighting off similarly stressed people battling over what the shops have to offer.

So, when you take into account just how hectic and difficult some aspects of the festive season can be, it is perhaps not surprising that you might want to get someone Xmas gifts to give your friends and loved ones a bit of a lift, give them a laugh and put a smile on their face. Although humour differs from person to person, I have tried to pick out a few fun, unique and amusing Xmas gifts that will bring a bit of levity to the more stressful elements of the holiday period.

For starters, everyone knows that cards are an important part of the season, hence the age old cliché of the Christmas card lists and how people can work their way on and off them! One way to inject some fun into this is to get a Create Your Own Christmas Card set. Whereas most packs of cards are variations on the snowy cottage or Santa and reindeer theme, you yourself can knock together your own bespoke designs from sequins and other things, which you can then put your own message on; whether it be funny or touching, is completely up to you!

However, there are many other fun Xmas gifts that can give you a bit of a lift too and one of these is the Clocky Clock Alarm Clock. Now, you might think this is a very standard Xmas gift, but this particular alarm clock has a special function that will help rouse you in the mornings. I don't know about you, but I very rarely set one alarm, as the first one invariably does little but make me want to throw my alarm across the room. Luckily, the Clocky Clock Alarm Clock does not allow this, as if you do not get up to the alarm quickly it will jump its way off of your bedside table and proceed to wheel itself around your bedroom, emitting loud beeps until you do get yourself up and stop it! As you probably know too, once you are up, that is the biggest problem and then you can go from there and get on with your day! This is a brilliantly fun item among Xmas gifts and will definitely give them a smile, after they've finished cursing and chasing after it!

One really cool gift that I make no apologies for continually going to (and which has previously been a winner of the Gift of The Year Award), is the Sun Jar - Sunshine In A Jar. These jars make for brilliant Xmas gifts for many different reasons and one of them is its actual unique quality. The jar contains a diode, which is charged during the day by any natural sunlight. In the dark hours, the jar takes this energy and gives it out, through the frosted glass, as a soft light source. This gives a beautifully warm light out, which is very soothing, especially to those of us who get the blues due to the dark nights and wind and rain. In this way, you can have sunshine all the year round, even if the jar isn't likely to give you too much of a tan!

So, if you are after Xmas gifts to give people a surprise, then any and all of the above should fit that bill. If not, I do hope that these Xmas gifts above have given you some idea of what is available and some good hints of your own as to what you might get.
