Xmas Presents Made Easy | Xmas Presents from GettingPersonal.co.uk

I am always full of good intentions when it comes to getting organised for Xmas. My main resolution every New Year is to buy all the Xmas presents early in order to avoid having to experience the horrors of packed shops, buses and parking areas. I know that I am not the only one who does not think that buying Xmas presents is the best fun ever and really can't get my head around the fact that my best friend actually gets a deep satisfaction from completing her Xmas present shopping early. By early, I do not mean the beginning of December. Oh, no. My friend has been known to have a panic attack in the middle of a department store in mid-November because she has 5 more Xmas presents to buy and can see the sands of time rapidly being reduced to a few million grains right before her very eyes. The enjoyment for her lies in the fact that she can smugly sit back and relax before Xmas, enjoy herself watching the rest of us dashing about in a shopping frenzy like a heap of headless chickens, or should I say turkeys and wonder why we do not deal with this chore in the way that she chooses to do. She actually persuaded me many years ago to do some Xmas shopping in the summer. I was thrilled at the prospect of possibly tackling the Xmas presents problem before the new school year had even begun. In the end I lost heart, shopping for Xmas presents in a heat wave just does not seem proper, unless of course you live in the southern hemisphere and are planning your Xmas barbecue on the beach. The biggest problem that I discovered to my dismay, in buying all those Xmas presents so early, was the fact that I would buy the odd thing here, another gift there and consequently hide them away in wardrobes, under beds and in the garden shed, so that the intended recipients would not stumble over them quite by chance or intention. So it really was inevitable that I mislaid some of these Xmas presents when I went around the house to collect them up, all ready for the wrapping, sending and giving stage of the process. Needless to say, I completely forgot where I had hidden most of the Xmas presents, but not only that, I had by the time Xmas was fast approaching, completely forgotten what gifts I was looking for too. Still, it is a lovely surprise when I am busy delving into a pile of rusty garden tools in the shed in the summer, to accidentally come across some lavender bath gel that my Gran still has not received.

There is, of course, a far easier and less problematic way to do all your Xmas present shopping way ahead of the big Xmas deadline and that includes those people who had slipped your mind when you were compiling your Xmas present list. If you have a friend or there is someone in your family who thinks they know their plonk from their Pinot Noir, a great Xmas present for them is a Learn It Wine Tasting gift set, which will get them on the right track with tests and questions which will both inform and give them an NVQ level 2 qualification. Then they will be able to tell you all about the wine that you serve with the Xmas dinner, whether you want them to or not. For those on your list who enjoy nibbling the finest chocolate, a Learn It Chocolatier Gift Box includes a course on the art of chocolate making, also with an NVQ level 2 qualification. If you are looking for something unusual for the kids and do not want to give them an Xmas present that they have already received from somebody else, a gorgeous and original gift is a Rainbow in My Room Projector which will project a colourful rainbow across a room and doubles as an effective night light for those kids who are not too keen on the dark. Another great Xmas present idea for kids and one for all budding paleontologists is definitely dinosaur related. Children adore dinosaurs and so a really great Xmas present that will be much loved is a Glow in the Dark Mould and Paint Dinosaur Kit. This brilliant Xmas present allows kids to make and paint loads of dinosaur fridge magnets and badges. Gifts like this go down well when the jelly beans have been scoffed and the other toys and gifts have been exhausted and this one is guaranteed to keep the kids quiet for ages. You will have no difficulty finding the right Xmas presents for everyone, once you look.
