Hi, I’m Rosie
I’ve been working at Getting Personal for over a year and a half. I love curry, the spicier the better!
Tell us a little bit about how you got started with your career
Since I was a young girl I’ve never stopped drawing and innovating. I studied Illustration at university, in which I gained valuable skills and how to refine my work. I had an interview at Getting Personal for the design department; since then, I’ve enjoyed every day learning what customers are interested in, and creating for them.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Mainly pinterest and instagram; I follow a multitude of artists and designers, who inspire me every day - I’m a big fan of paper cuts at the moment (the art of creating 3D designs from 1 sheet of paper! I also enjoy spending way too long in quirky stationery shops, I recently bought a pen that looks like a carrot.)
If you had to pick a favourite design which would it be and why?
I’m only new to the job role, but I really love the weather icon cushions for kids!
What’s the best part of your job?
Learning what products are selling best, talking to my fabulous co-workers every day and the freedom of being creative.
Do you have any tips for people wanting to start a career as a designer?
Put all your effort into your portfolio, gather feedback on what your best artworks are and don’t doubt yourself.
Are there any exciting design trends coming up for 2019?
I am currently loving mushroom-based patterns, pastel colours and the subtle initiation of gold. Gold makes everything look ten times more expensive!
