Hi, I’m Naz
I’ve been working as a creative designer at Getting Personal for nearly 5 years. My favourite animals are penguins.
Tell us a little bit about how you got started with your career
Being creative is something that I have loved for as long as I can remember. After I graduated with a degree in Product Design I did some design voluntary work followed by temp work and freelancing which then led to me getting a job here at Getting Personal. It was a long road but well worth it!
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Inspiration can come from anywhere. I am a huge fan of architecture, particularly architects like Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid because I love their form and uniqueness. I also look at fashion and homeware for colours, styles and pattern inspiration.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is that most days I don’t feel like I am actually doing work as I love getting creative and working with colour. I can get so engrossed in it I don’t realise how quickly the time goes. Also it helps that the design team banter is on another level which keeps me entertained!
Do you have any tips for people wanting to start a career as a designer?
Keep trying and keep designing and adding to your portfolio!
Can you tell us what you’re working on at the moment?
Currently I am working on creating collections for weddings so watch this space!
If you had to pick a favourite design which would it be and why?
If I had to pick I would go with the architectural piece The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center Baku, Azerbaijan by Zaha Hadid as I think it is a beautiful piece of architecture.
