The Weirdest Bakes We Have Ever Seen...

From choux pastry that cycles and edible matchsticks, our culinary creative minds have been well and truly blown!

The Weirdest Bakes We Have Ever Seen...

As the series' evolve, the culinary creations of our favourite baking show seem to get weirder every year, don’t they?! And while baking a batch of shortbread might be your creative peak when it comes to the kitchen, the bakers haven’t failed in providing us with some unusual creations! The mind certainly boggles…

Choux Pastry Bicycle

Choux Pastry Bicycle

When you think of choux pastry, a chocolate éclair comes to mind, right? Wrong! When one contestant in series three concocted a whole bike out of choux pastry, our minds were well and truly blown. (And it was also a not-so-polite reminder that gorging on the whole thing would need more than a day’s worth of cycling to burn off those calories!) (Source BBC)

Prinsesstårta

Pronouncing the name of this cake was a task in itself, let alone baking it! From series five, the bakers really had their work cut out with this complicated challenge. The gaudy green decoration didn’t quite have us salivating somehow! (Source BBC)

Halwa Baklava Rolls

Sadly, this variation of the classic Greek dish had us thinking about the remnants of a Chinese takeaway rather than a mouth- watering dessert! The judges loved the taste but weren’t so keen on the pastry. (Source BBC)

Japanese Pagoda Tea Tower

Japanese Pagoda Tea Tower

The idea behind this biscuit tower from series four’s task was good, but the thought of eating a green biscuit tower didn’t quite get our juices flowing - sorry! (Source BBC)

Giant Chilli Chocolate and Ginger Matchsticks

10/10 for presentation and thought for this take on breadsticks in series four’s challenge, but we couldn’t quite rid the taste of charcoal from our imagination! (Source BBC)
