The Extremely Last Minute Valentine’s Day Survival Guide
It’s Valentine’s Day morning. You didn’t buy a gift. It sounds like you’re in trouble. Luckily, we’ve put together our top (extremely) last minute Valentine’s Day ideas to save you. You’re welcome!

Buy vouchers

Spa day

Vouchers for an experience day or spa day, or tickets to watch a concert are brilliant last minute gifts because you can create your own tickets or simply announce the surprise in a card. Day. Saved.

Make breakfast in bed

Breakfast in bed

Never underestimate the power of breakfast in bed. A lie-in plus food in your warm, cosy bed is the closet thing to perfection you’ll ever get.

Write special IOUs

These might look like a bit of a cop-out, so you have to make sure you make some great promises. Like dinner at their favourite restaurant or a 30-minute foot massage.

Create a Valentine’s Day playlist

Thanks to technology, it’s a lot easier to put together a mixtape these days! Simply create a playlist on iTunes, Spotify or YouTube featuring all of their favourite songs.

Write a letter

When you’ve been together a while, it’s easy to forget to tell them all the reasons why you love them so much. So in the spirit of the day, write it all down in a letter they can treasure.

Arrange a box set marathon

Watching TV with a takeaway

Sacrifice watching your favourite show to let them watch episodes of theirs back-to-back. A takeaway, sweet treats and a bottle of wine will go down nicely, too.

Take a romantic walk

Dog Walk

Take a nice walk in the countryside and make pit stops at the local pubs along the way for drinks and lunch. Even better if you have a dog to bring along.

Love-up their calendar

If they have a calendar for the new year, write a reason why you love them on each page. It’s thoughtful, and will last for the rest of the year.

Treat them to champagne and strawberries

Champagne and strawberries

Make a champagne and strawberries run to your nearest shop. And so it looks like you’ve made an effort, pick up some chocolate to melt down and dip the strawberries into.

Scatter petals

If you have some flowers in the garden that you don’t mind sacrificing for Valentine’s Day, make use of their petals to spell out “I love you” or to make a heart.

Create a Post-it heart

Or if you don’t have enough photos to pin up, opt for post-its instead. Write lots of lovely messages on some pink or red Post-its and stick them to a mirror in the shape of a heart.

Create a photo wall

Photo wall

If you have lots of photos of you both from over the years, pin them up on a wall with decoration, or in the shape of a heart. It’s a really lovely, personal romantic gesture.

Make a memory jar

Write down your best memories on slips of paper and put them into a jar. You can enjoy reminiscing about all the good times you’ve had together, and continue to add to it.

Get crafty with the kids

Little girl baking

From baking heart-shaped sweet treats to creating cards and pictures, the best gifts are often homemade.

Re-create when you first met

Watch the first film you saw together, or go and get a coffee like you used to. Re-creating your couple traditions from when you first met is a great reminder of why you’re together.
